About this Nominee
The mission of The Arc-Solano is to promote the greatest personal growth, community understanding, and full participation of people with developmental disabilities and their families through support, education, and advocacy.
The Arc-Solano provides services to adults throughout Solano County through a variety of programs. We currently have an Independent Living Skills training program, a site-based behavior management day program, and a community-based day program that focuses on education, employment skills, volunteerism, and community integration. All three of our Core Programs emphasize self-advocacy, thoughtful decision-making, and community inclusion.
We are also proud to present Art@Arc, the creative arts program of the Arc-Solano. Established in 1995, this program provides consumers with a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental atmosphere in which to explore their creative voices. The freedom to create and to make individual choices in this program is the cornerstone that allows our program participants to gain recognition and increase self-esteem.
Since 1953, our primary purpose has been to empower those we serve.
